Here at TechSoup, we know that contests and challenges are an excellent way to marshal the enthusiasm and talent of our community. Our annual Digital Storytelling Challenge , Restart Romania , and NetSquared challenges are just a few examples of how we get our community members engaged at multiple levels. How to Participate.
Using contests and challenges to engage communities was the topic of the July 17 edition of the weekly CommBuild chat. The chat, facilitated by by TechSoup online community manager, Michael DeLong, included helpful advice learned by participants who have run contests. Why hold a contest or challenge? That's why TechSoup Global, NetSquared and Microsoft teamed up to launch the Windows 8 Apps for Social Good Contest last November. The TechSoup Digital Storytelling Contest is here!

OvidiuRo's story began in 2001, when Maria Gheorghiu and Leslie Hawke were helping poor women from the ghettos of Bacau, a small city in Romania.
