Experiment with online contests, both creating them and participating in them. Online contests like the Knight News Challenge , The Case Foundation's America's Giving Challenge , and the AmEx Cardmember Project can be resource draining to participate in, especially for a time- and cash-strapped nonprofit.

It will be interesting to see how this evolves given the technology platform came before the social design , but as online community pundits note, web2.0 Someone on the 501 Tech Club NY list ( NTEN Affinity Group ) suggested a name change might be needed. applications have changed the rules of online community. Who has time for Video?

Before I worked at NTEN, I managed the NetSquared program at TechSoup Global. At that time, most of NetSquared’s content came from the community blog, where anyone working at the intersection of technology and social impact could create a profile and contribute to the blog with stories, case studies, and more.
