So for the next few tools, I’ll be describing CRMs (Constituent/Contact/Community/Customer Relationship Management). It also gets kudos from NTEN’s satisfaction survey (it came in third, after CiviCRM and Salesforce.) The first one is one that I’ve been using recently for my consulting business – SugarCRM.

These days, each personal pledge page has to have social networking widgets giving participants easy-to-use tools to spread the word and promote their fundraiser. Include quick instructions that direct people to the "Make a Pledge" link at the bottom of the page where they can enter their donation and credit card information.

Instead of receiving a message directly from the carrier confirming the donation amount and requesting authorization to add the amount to the donor’s cell phone bill, however, the donor receives a customized text message from your organization thanking them for their pledge and providing a link to an online donation portal.

While the user will still need to input personal contact along with credit card info, the navigation will be more suited for mobile use. A PayPal mobile donation facility has been incorporated within this mobile site to allow donors to login and issue a donation in any amount or to pledge a donation for later completion from a PC.
