When Gmail came out a few years ago, I read the raves from other NpTechers. But why can't shift from Outlook to gmail? Exported my contacts from Outlook into Gmail. I had been using Plaxo and am now need to figure out if there is a browser toolbar that works with gmail. Please don't laugh too hard. It worked.

I use Spanning Sync to keep iCal and Address Book on the laptop in sync with iCal and Address Book on the Mac (and in sync with Google Calendar and Gmail). I’ll meet folks on my trip, enter their contact info into my phone and have no way of transferring that info to my laptop until I get home.

I love having all 3,000 of my contacts on my phone, as well as my calendar, tasks, and notes. The best solution seems to be to sync my calendar with Google (less of a worry than storing my contacts there) and use the free Google Calendar Search app. Sprint released it last summer, but Verizon waited until January. Why a Palm?

So I did the usual, gave up my gmail password. So people who were in my gmail address book, and in Spock, got a request for trust from me, not knowing where it came from.
