April 7, 2007 I had heard about this new journal a while ago, and it was sitting in some small corner of my brain, waiting for me to pay attention. I ran into an old colleague at NTC , and it came up, because he had been thinking of contributing to the journal, but decided that he probably won’t, for reasons I will talk about.

My theory of practice is different than my consulting philosophy. Actually, a client had a grant proposal, and it included the consultant’s “theory of practice&# which of course is something that most organizational development/effectiveness type consultants have, but rather few technology consultants have.
A couple of days ago, she made a call on her blog for academics to stop publishing articles in closed journals. I am boycotting locked-down journals and I’d like to ask other academics to do the same. I agree with her that open journals are the future. know danah boyd. It’s really worth a read. Be Helpful.

May 29, 2008 NTEN just released their CMS satisfaction survey. The other questions, that are really more geared toward particular vendors, for FOSS CMS are not really applicable to the CMS itself, but to the consultants or vendors who implement it – which is bound to be variable. Most people (67%) want an easy to use interface.
