There are a handful of emerging examples of vlogging in nonprofit land that have moved past some of the barriers. A few folks responded to my query of the vlogging community , a community that hopes to spread vlogging far and wide.

Shortly before the Blogher July 2005 conference, I got a new digital camera that came with a video feature. At the conference, I attended a session on video blogging with Ryanne Hodson and was inspired to go play in a vlog sandbox. I was also curious to see whether there were nonprofits using vlogs to promote their causes.

I'm using web/phone conference software called "Ready/Talk" which (thank god) offers some interactive features, like chat and handing control of presentation to someone else's desktop. But the word backchannel also refers to the chat in a conference where there are people in the room chatting as well as remote participation.
