It’s a new iteration of the budget model from 2020, and it’s set to launch March 18th with preorders opening on March 11th. Let’s dive into what specs the new iPhone SE has and compare it to each model in the iPhone 13 lineup, specifically the iPhone 13 , iPhone 13 Mini , iPhone 13 Pro , and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
LG’s G2 (left) shown next to last year’s C1 OLED (right), which isn’t exactly the right comparison. A more helpful comparison to demonstrate year-over-year improvements would’ve been putting it against the G1’s Evo display, but no such luck. And there’s an enormous 97-inch 4K model that’s joining the G series.
But this year, Apple really does appear to be making a big push with its cameras, particularly with the Pro models. For comparison, the 12 Pro Max had 1.7?m Apple says the iPhone 13 and 13 Mini have the company’s “most advanced dual-camera system ever,” while the 13 Pro and Pro Max have “our three most powerful cameras ever.”.
Other specs like the Kirin 990 processor and 4,200mAh battery are shared across both models. This is an interesting comparison because the three phones handle light very differently. Just look at this comparison with the iPhone 11. Both have an identical footprint and share the same 6.58-inch Click to view fullscreen.).
To help with this, Google Maps launched Immersive View , which uses advances in machine learning (ML) and computer vision to fuse billions of Street View and aerial images to create a rich, digital model of the world. In addition, NeRF models place further assumptions on the camera and the scene itself.
Beyond evaluating model performance on skin tone, skin tone annotations enable researchers to measure diversity and representation in image retrieval systems , dataset collection , and image generation. The MST-E image set contains 1,515 images and 31 videos featuring 19 models taken under various lighting conditions and facial expressions.
The one that most people should buy is the iPhone 12, which starts at around $830 for a 64GB model. On top of all that, it comes in five different colors, one more than you can choose from in the Pro models. It also has a sleeker, more modern design than the previous iPhone 11 or iPhone XR, which feel frumpy in comparison.
A new cinematic video mode isn’t exclusive to the Pros, either (though smooth 120Hz screens, a new macro photography mode and ProRes video will be.) You can find our comparison charts here. compared to 8MP and f/2.4), with 4K video for the first time, and both the Wi-Fi 6 and 5G support that the 2019 model lacked.
It starts at $1,799 for the base Core i5 model, but of course you can price it out much higher. I happen to have a 2017 iMac for work, so it’s a direct comparison: The webcam isn’t just better because it has more pixels; it’s also better because Apple is finally applying some modern image processing to the video stream.
Acer’s model is thinner than both of these devices at 0.61 Some models will support LTE connectivity, though my test unit did not. For comparison, the Spin 513 is largely competing with Mediatek and Intel Celeron machines. Photography by Monica Chin / The Verge. inches, and has a much more modern look.
Other models are available, but the situation means you might not get the exact webcam you want. It’s even a much wider field of view than the Logitech C920 HD Pro I included as a comparison. Photography by Jon Porter / The Verge. asking price.
A first look at the next trend in gaming laptops I had hoped that MSI’s GS66 Stealth for 2021 would look and feel a little different than last year’s model — not that the 2020 version was particularly busted in any major way. In fact, the previous model was a few nips and tucks shy of reaching Razer’s high bar for gaming laptop design.
In comparison, I heard a lot about how “Studio” is a great word given Apple’s target audience. Photography studio. It’s hard to pinpoint where exactly this started (though, in my mind, it was with the two-port MacBook Pro model ), but now the word gets slapped on everything. Music studio. Design studio.
You’ll have to wait until next week for our full review, but for now here are my initial impressions based on using the 12GB RAM model. It also won’t have to power a separate modem thanks to the integrated model in the Snapdragon 765G, while Qualcomm’s flagship processors this year have to be used with separate modems.
inch screen is large enough to invite you to open multiple windows for side-by-side comparisons or just better multitasking. The model I’ve been able to try out is the mid-tier version with a 10th Gen Core i3 processor and 4GB of RAM. Photography by Dan Seifert / The Verge.
1More says with the Pro model, it’s “sure to bring the fight to Apple and give their loyal fanbase a serious dilemma in choosing what pair of earbuds are right for them.”. But if 1More is going to make the comparison, the differences are worth pointing out. Photography by Chris Welch / The Verge.
With a population of 60 million (for comparison, U.K.: In October 2020, we led a $7M Series A round in Boom Image Studio, a Milan-based company on a mission to reshuffle the world of commercial photography by transforming the way digital photo content is generated. NTT data is investing in Calabria.
Like last year’s model , this Aero 15 has a 4K OLED display and a decent port selection with Thunderbolt 4 and HDMI 2.1. Also like last year’s model, it has a somewhat clunky aluminum design, a flashy RGB keyboard, a fingerprint sensor in the trackpad, and a webcam inconveniently located underneath the screen. inch 4K OLED screen.
Last year, Samsung hopped on the big trend of Mini LED TVs, which offer better brightness and contrast than past models by shrinking down the local dimming zone LEDs and cramming in way more of them. It’s the sort of thing that’s only noticeable in side-by-side comparisons. Photography by Chris Welch / The Verge.
The model I tested, which costs $629, has a Core i5-10210U processor, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. This configuration worked so well that I’m comfortable saying the i7 model is really best for developers and other power users who are coding or running desktop Linux applications. They look downright miniature in comparison. These are minor sacrifices, but they do put the Studio Buds behind Apple’s headphones or even other Beats models in terms of supporting Apple’s ecosystem. Photography by Chris Welch / The Verge. And the weight difference is also substantial: each of the Studio Buds is 5.1
My Mi 11 review unit pairs the 888 with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, though more expensive models have options for 12GB and 256GB, respectively. The €1,249 S21 Ultra is where the comparison gets interesting. Photography by Sam Byford / The Verge. In use, the Mi 11 more than passes the “feels like a flagship” test.
As in last year’s model , the screen is where the A52 5G (and Samsung generally) really stand out. The 4A goes for more subdued color rendering, and the A52 5G’s images lack a little contrast in comparison. Photography by Allison Johnson / The Verge. But for day-to-day tasks and social media scrolling, it keeps up well.
The base model starts at $2,039 and includes a Core i5-1135G7, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a 14-inch 1920 x 1200 screen. I tested a more expensive 2-in-1 model listed at $2,926.75 I tested a more expensive 2-in-1 model listed at $2,926.75 New to this Latitude model is the SafeShutter, an automated physical camera cover.
inch screen, while the S22 feels downright petite in comparison with its 6.1-inch The Plus model offers a bigger battery as well as a bigger, power-hungry display. The night photography additions aren’t particularly impressive, but in any case, the S22 has a very good camera system. The S22 Plus has a bigger 6.6-inch
inch Tab S7 Plus — to more squarely compete with Apple’s two iPad Pro models. They have incredible displays, fast performance, and far fewer bugs and issues than last year’s model. In terms of hardware, there’s very little to complain about with either model. The Tab S7 starts at $649.99, while the Tab S7 Plus commands $849.99.
The screen looks a little low on contrast in comparison to your standard display — likely because the panel is optimized for viewability in bright sunlight. This model works with both widely available sub-6GHz frequencies and hard-to-find but much faster mmWave spectrum. Photography by Allison Johnson / The Verge.
The Fold 3 recently set the bar for what foldable phones could achieve, bringing with it better multitasking, a water-resistant build, and a refined display that’s a notable step up from the original model released in 2019. The outward design of both models is as varied as their approach to the display. Camera components.
It has a generously sized Windows Precision trackpad, and its keyboard is just as delightful to type on as some of HP’s other recent models we’ve reviewed. a Mini DisplayPort jack, a headphone jack, and a proprietary plug for its 200W power brick (some models use a 150W brick). The new $999 Mavic Air 2S (yes, $200 more than the prior model) comes with some notable new features and upgrades, including a much larger image sensor. All of those are nice upgrades over what you get in the more expensive model, not to mention the benefits of the smaller Air 2. Photography by Vjeran Pavic / The Verge.
inch and 15-inch Surface Laptop models with either Intel’s 11th-Gen processors or AMD’s Ryzen 4000 processors. But more importantly, there’s another company out there that recently made a huge chip upgrade to its flagship models, which has left most other 2020 chip upgrades in the dust: Apple, with its Arm-based M1. You can get a 13.5-inch
But in the four years since the Google Home, Amazon has released multiple generations of new Echo models and leap-frogged the Home in audio quality, design, and features. There are no inputs on the Nest Audio, though, so you can’t hook it up to another source via wire like you can with some Echo models or the Home Max.
There are simply fewer people in the US with Galaxy phones than iPhones, so it can’t quite compete with the AirTag, but that’s a moot point anyway since nobody is likely to be comparison shopping between the two. Photography by Allison Johnson / The Verge. Tile’s tags work with both iOS and Android devices.
Meanwhile, computational photography is great, but there’s only so much it can do — stacking a few images to get better dynamic range or depth information is good, but you reach a point of diminishing returns pretty quickly. Unfortunately, sensors can’t get much bigger because they’d need bigger lenses to match.
The new Pixel 5A on the other hand, is kind of a boring update by comparison. But all things considered, Google has managed to address some of the weak points in its previous A-series models while also bringing the price down. Photography by Allison Johnson / The Verge. That’s about it. Not bad for a boring update.
Unsurprisingly, it’s lacking in the gaming department by comparison, but it’s practically bursting with other niceties you’d usually find in other high-end productivity laptops, like a Windows Hello IR webcam, Thunderbolt 4, USB-C charging, long battery life, and a touchscreen. Here’s what you’ll get on the right side.
Granted, it was $200 more expensive and quite large and bulky in comparison to the diminutive newer model, but I’m not usually a fan of making smart home devices dumber or less capable. I also did a comparison with the Nest Cam battery , which is Google’s new indoor / outdoor camera that has the option of being wired.
By comparison, if I spend more than a couple hours on my MacBook Air’s flat keyboard, I have to stretch my hands or take short breaks because my wrists start to flare up.) If you go with the white model, you’ll be glad cleaning the keyboard is so simple, since the included keycaps can get grimy within a matter of days.
My colleague Jon Porter reviewed the TCL 10 Pro earlier this year , a $449 phone that prioritizes design over the connectivity and speed of this Verizon-exclusive model. By comparison, the 10 5G UW has a bigger bottom bezel and a square-shaped rear fingerprint sensor. Photography by Cameron Faulkner / The Verge.
And let’s get this out of the way: it is the best consumer drone for video and photography you can buy right now. If you buy the $4,999 Cine model, you get three batteries and plenty of flight time. ISO comparison from 200 — 6400. But that doesn’t mean it’s the drone for everyone.
$499 for some solid 1440p PC gaming Last month, Nvidia’s RTX 3080 ushered in the next generation of 4K gaming with an impressive leap in performance over the 2080 model it replaced. Photography by Tom Warren / The Verge. I’ve been testing the RTX 3070 on a newly built machine using Intel’s latest Core i9-10900K inside.
It comes in silver, black, or a gold-colored special edition — I’ve got the black model and it’s a little boring to look at. The best comparison I can make is that the OnePlus Watch is a fitness tracker in a smartwatch body, which would be an acceptable premise if it were a better fitness tracker.
We vividly showed that despite adopting a computational photography pipeline that combines multiple frames into a Smart HDR image, Apple’s $1,000+ camera couldn’t compete with Google’s $650 Pixel 2. But Apple had announced it with a lot of direct comparisons to laptops, especially around performance.
Like the lack of a second camera or a second, like, source of data for Apple to pull information for photography, computational photography stuff means that a lot of other things are just poorer than what you actually already have out there. It sounds a lot like the Revit R1s, like large action model. Cherlynn: Okay.
