Yesterday, NTEN;s Holly Ross hosted an online conversation with Seth Godin and me, along with Roxy Allen and 100 plus NTEN members. In turn, I suggested that we have a conversation with the nonprofit technology community with Holly Ross at NTEN as host. Tags: nten. This conversation took place yesterday.
I have not been blogging because I've been at the NTEN NTC Conference , the premier event for nonprofit techies taking place in San Francisco. We have a hashtag and many of us tweet to one another, leave comments on blogs or Facebook profiles regularly. Poll your members where are they? Do a lot of listening.
Nonprofits are taking advantage of this technology; according to the Nonprofit Social Networking Survey by NTEN, Common Knowledge & Blackbaud, the average nonprofit’s fan or follower base grew by 30 percent on Facebook and 81 percent on Twitter in 2011. NTEN has recently published the “ Equity Guide for Nonprofit Technology ,” that describes in detail how your organization can dismantle inequity due to more intentional technology choices. This way, people can comment on or start a discussion about a certain item directly within the document – both asynchronously or in real-time.
