Norman Abramson, a father of modern wireless networks, dies at 88

He was drawn to Hawaii partly because of his love of surfing, and in 1966, took a faculty position at the University of Hawai’i (UH) M?noa’s Hawaii helped give Abramson’s seminal project its name: ALOHAnet was created by Abramson and his collaborator Franklin Kuo, while teaching at UH.

Holey Grail Donuts bites into $9M for Los Angeles retail expansion

Dreiling, who was previously doing ecological engineering in Oregon, teamed up with his sister, Hana Dreiling, a private chef in Kauai, Hawaii, to start Holey Grail Donuts. The $9 million combines both a Series A, led by Collaborative Fund and Lee Fixel, and a seed round led by True Ventures.
