Every month, the NetSquared community comes together offline in cities around the world at Net Tuesday events to mix, swap stories and ideas, build new relationships, and collaborate. Each NetSquaredgroup is run by volunteers who program events reflecting the unique needs of their community. It’s easy!
That word change supports co-design, it encourages collaboration, and it ensures engagement. The community will see that you aren’t making changes, aren’t communicating, and aren’t collaborating and will disengage. There are a few core elements of the way communities work that we can learn from as a model for innovation as well.

For the most part, I agree with the way the crowds voted – but, given that people were able to submit and vote at the same time, it means some groups only submitted on the very last day, not leaving much time for votes. Collaboration via social media has enabled the program to come together and launch. What do you think?

A wiki is a website maintained collaboratively by a community of contributors focusing on a particular subject or project. Typical wiki communities are work groups within a company, educators and students, and hobbyists. This wiki was built as a collaboration between TechSoup and the Corporation for National and Community Service.

In our analog world we are too focused on processes that aren’t scaleable or shareable – meaning we have a lot of meetings, we write things down on paper, and when someone that wasn’t in our meeting or isn’t in our town needs to collaborate with us, we have to invest in catching them up and recreating the work we have already done.

Today, over at Netsquared I summarized some of the live blog posts coming from the Web of Change Conference. Marshall Kirkpatrick , who was working with Netsquared , whipped up the NpTech Metafeed which allowed folks to aggregate items tagged by nonprofit techies from many distributed sources. The result of these ad hoc collaborations was a folksonomy of terms of nonprofit technology related news and a community of taggers.
