One of the most important social skills they work on in my daughter's classroom? Sharing is important because a) it's just the nice thing to do and b) sharing helps build the classroom community. Sharing the book or toy gives both children the common experience that forms the classroom culture.

The causes that are supported are listed here a good mix of wildlife conservation, hunger, and others. There is a scaling system for Karma points - for example supporting a classroom is five points while sending a book to a library in a developing country is 100. And, of course, you get badges for various activities.

When I taught high school English, I saw first-hand the negative effects of hunger on children in school. I used to buy bags of Egg McMuffins on my way to work and, before school started, I’d hand them out to kids who stopped by my classroom.

During a panel on fundraising, Donors Choose raised enough money to fund a music classroom project in Austin. Other panels on social good explored crowdsourcing ideas to change the world, and brought folks together during the CauseLabs to brainstorm offline solutions to ending hunger in America.

In the classroom, I got to hear a lot of theories as to why poverty exists - but that actually made things seem more confusing. t claim to have all the answers - in fact, part of this journey is about putting my classroom knowledge to the test. t really sure what I could do. I also don???t s why this project is called ???uncultured???
