It is what it sounds like: a book of original sheet music, beautifully designed and complemented with artwork and text. Beck''s project is unusual because he deliberately resurrected a mostly-defunct participatory platform: sheet music for popular songs. Sheet music is a beautiful analogy for this.

Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh created a Summer Adventure program. My dad was a conductor and composer, my mom his accompanist. Be creative.

Creative stuff: Things unique to your organization including the ability to create art, music, poetry, dance, etc. Throw in beer and pizza and music and it can be fun. These exist already!

This summer, we opened two exhibitions at my museum that are highly relevant to local culture. Before the Princes of Surf exhibition, these boards rested deep in the collection storage of the Bishop Museum in Hawaii. We lie to ourselves, writing shiny press releases for exhibitions of second-class objects and secondhand stories.

Museums and other venues are offering special programs for teens, for hipsters, for people who want a more active or spiritual or participatory experience.
