The good folks at Cisco supported the NTEN/NTC Day of Service in New Orleans ( read about it). J oin Cisco for a fascinating 60-minute video Webcast that reveals how wikis, blogs, social networking, and other Web 2.0 So when their PR agency asked me to blog about this event, it got high on my random acts of kindness list.
On Thursday, April 9th at 8:00 am, we kicked off the tenth Annual Day of Service at NTEN's NTC which was a resounding success! Over 110 volunteers worked with almost 60 local Atlanta-based nonprofits sharing their wisdom and expertise on a variety of techie topics.

One of my clients is NTEN and for the past five years I've been hired to help coordinate the NTC Day of Service on April 4thi n Washington, DC. [As part of the 2011 NTC, a group of attendees are documenting their experiences at the conference on the NTEN Blog.] I've mentioned in the past how this conference is much like a "family reunion" where we see faces we knew from previous sessions but also new faces and voices of NTC community.
You may be familiar with the NTC ( Nonprofit Technology Conference ) hosted by NTEN. The list of organizations and projects is here : This year will send two groups of nonprofit techies to install a wireless network donated by Cisco at different locations in San Francisco. The contest is presented by YouTube , See3 Communications , and NTEN with generous sponsorship by Cisco. Cisco will contribute $3,500 to each of the four winners to help them keep multiplying their impact through video. Winners will also receive free registration for next year’s Nonprofit Technology Conference (NTC).
For the past five years, I've coordinated the NTEN/NTC Day of Service and before that participated as a volunteer. Susan and Karen were on a twenty-person team, led by John Nuno of Cisco, that worked with homeless clients in a community technology lab at the Wilderness Alliance. Peter did a strategy consult with a local organization.

Jay Dedman is going to lead a video blogging workshop in New Orleans as part of the line up for the NTEN's NTC Day of Service 2008. Led by some great folks from Cisco (they also donated the hardware too), a second team of nonprofit trainers be going to the Community Center of St.
