The good folks at Cisco supported the NTEN/NTC Day of Service in New Orleans ( read about it). J oin Cisco for a fascinating 60-minute video Webcast that reveals how wikis, blogs, social networking, and other Web 2.0 applications are creating a "mass collaboration" paradigm.
This year’s Day of Service featured three different projects – a computer recycling project and installation of a wireless network in Washington, DC’s largest homeless shelter and meal preparation at DC Central Kitchen. On Thursday, April 9th at 8:00 am, we kicked off the tenth Annual Day of Service at NTEN's NTC which was a resounding success! In the early days, the event offered a small selection of consulting, on-site training, or actual hardware or local area network auditing projects. There was a lot of energy in the room.
One of my clients is NTEN and for the past five years I've been hired to help coordinate the NTC Day of Service on April 4thi n Washington, DC. You may be familiar with the NTC ( Nonprofit Technology Conference ) hosted by NTEN. There is always a full menu of networking sessions, affinity group meetings, conference panels, activities, and of course, The Day of Service. This year we will be installing two wireless networks in San Francisco thanks to Cisco.
