In part 1 of this series, we introduced MathAndCoding , a nonprofit that offers teen-led programming classes for children in public libraries in the Silicon Valley area. " Library-Specific Curriculum. MathAndCoding volunteers are now doing this at more than 12 libraries in the region. But they are still kids.

Currently, more than 50 percent of children ages 0–8 spend an average of 43 minutes daily on smartphones and tablets watching videos, reading, and playing games. Eighty-three percent of millennials ages 18–29 use social networking sites on a regular basis as do 73 percent of teens.

To Write Love on Her Arms and Invisible Children are two of the most well-known nonprofits that came out of MySpace.
