I tested out the five phases of falling in love with measurement. Given the topic was measurement, I couldn’t help but go a little meta and play with incorporating learning analytics into the instruction. My inspiration for the instructionaldesign was learning that there was a game show in the 1980s called “ The Body Language Game.” Each table had some markers and flip chart paper (“table cloths”) so participants could take notes. We did several rotations and the discussions generated many ideas.
Good instructionaldesign and delivery engages people’s brains, eyes, ears, and bodies. People pay attention more, they learn something, they retain it better, and there is a better chance of them applying what they learned. Here’s some more examples of incorporating walk and talks into trainings.
