The International Data Corporation (IDC) estimates that just 3 percent of all data is currently tagged and ready for manipulation, and only one sixth of this - 0.5% - is used for analysis. She essentially finds that big data is a significant opportunity for NGOs to democratize data and make it public, and also to identify patterns of need.
