The fundraising goal for Give to the Max Day is to get 35,000 people to support their favorite regional charity, raising more than $3 million in donations and grants in just 24 hours! I said that I wished contest designers would take a Hippocratic Oath to do no harm to nonprofits! Designate a cheer leader.

This blog post is for nonprofit organizations and charities that are looking to increase their online exposure (without spending loads of money) so they can receive more volunteers, donations, attention etc. Nonprofits might also have access to data that others do not (such as numbers surrounding homelessness, food donations etc.).

Certainly, giving from individuals won't be enough to fix the economy and provide the resources that charities need to deliver important services in hard economic times. But donating money to a charity, even a small amount (or in-kind items ) can certainly help with part of the need and raise awareness in others. And, yes they did !
