Two book chapters in particular stood out to me: How to Build an Outrageously Talented Team How to Run Electric Meetings First, regarding building a talented team , Jacobs explains that you need a team of people who are smart, hardworking, honest, and kindhearted. He recommends you hire for intelligence, hunger, integrity and collegiality.
The chapter gives examples of recognition, validation, and empathy create an attention trigger. Half the letters were a fundraising request based on statistics and the other half the story of one child facing hunger. The story of one child received twice as many donations as the fundraising request with statistics.
One of the events listed is an exhibition of photos at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris from the book Celebrating Women by Paola Gianturco (who I interviewed in October 2007).
