Greetings from Cusco, Peru! I am honored to be working with Wake International on their Tech2Empower Program in Cusco, Peru. This was a very empowering icebreaker – and a great way to get to know a little bit more about the people I will spending the next week with on a service project here in Cusco, Peru.
Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated every year from September 15 to October 15. It gives the space to highlight the community’s diversity and celebrate their cultures. It’s a time for a celebration and for others to experience our food, dancing, and music. Luisa Chil, Sr. Media Strategist.
Last year disaster relief once again became the main focus of our organization as we activated and served over 4 million meals in Peru, Houston, Puerto Rico, and California. We also looked at a campaign strategy developed by the office in Peru called Nofilter and looked at ways to incorporate some of the takeaways from the Networked Nonprofit workshop. I introduced them to the idea of walking and movement as work and incorporated some fun energizers that celebrated Latin American culture.
