Famous on MySpace and to teens across the world, outside of MySpace they are hardly known. The mother from Missouri that pretended to be a teen boy and cyberbullied a young girl to the point where she committed suicide.Tragic yes, but MySpace’s fault? To this day, the celebrity factor on MySpace is untapped by nonprofits.

Another quiet little secret is making sure you engage local Girl and Boy Scouts groups who are always looking for ways to engage in socially minded ways. Crazy amounts of wasted food also resulted in donations to Second Harvest and as well as work with local charities to organize soup kitchens. Partner with a Local Florist.

Its founders, Willie and Mell Pruitt, came to the area in the 1950s and were concerned that no one seemed to be documenting the history of the local African American community. Twestival Local Weekend : Last February, Twestival raised over $250,000 for charity:water on Twitter on February 13th with more 200 cities sponsoring local tweet, meet, and give parties. Now, and I can even speak from my own experience, the majority of the time I spend on social media is connecting with brands, and celebrities, and causes that I’ve never met. Like, I don’t want to miss my favorite celebrities’ story of the day because it disappears in 24 hours, and I want to stay connected.
