I was disappointed when it was announced that the NTEN NTC would be in San Francisco this year. The NTC is the nonprofit technology conference. I though the NTC would be out of my reach. They’re offering NTC scholarships! Seemed kind of funny to donate to a cause I’m hoping to be a recipient.
I have written before about the way I believe causes are shifting be the way individuals identify themselves, group up, and organize. So that got me thinking about the idea of cause fatigue. Promise that a root cause analysis will be delivered to all interested parties after crisis resolution. It's not uncommon for a manager to have a line of folks outside their office wanting to discuss the cause of the crisis. Compile a report detailing the crisis, resolution, root cause, and recommended preventive measures.
