Before I go further, I have thank everyone for the early birthday present - a donation to the Sharing Foundation. In less than 24 hours, I've raised $806 to help children in Cambodia using a new feature in Facebook Causes. It lets you ask your friends for donations instead of presents and makes it easy to thank them.

I recently read an article about fundraising on social networking sites. One particular quote jumped out at me, "The Facebook generation wears their causes like the way they wear their favorite fashion." That's why I also remixed the fundraising widget. two came to mind and rhyme: Fashion and Passion. Need some tips?

birthday in true social media style with flickr 50th photo birthday card remix contest and I donated 50 bucks to the winner's favorite charity. I "met" Mark Grimes ( Ned.com ) virtually on Omidyar Network and he was part of a group that proposed community support for the Sharing Foundation. I really appreciate it!

Jude Children’s Research Hospital Kids In Need Operation Gratitude The HandsOn Network/Points of Light Institute Funding will be allocated based on the percentage of votes each organization receives. on Facebook, Network for Good, Global Giving and Parade Magazine in 2007. Some contests don't requires donations to win, but votes.

Beth's Birthday Cause I was listening to a story on Marketplace on NPR this afternoon with Tess Vigeland and Chris Farrell who reviewed their 2008 financial goals and graded themselves on their accomplishments. Ask people to donate to a cause instead of gifts. But it doesn' t always have to be you asking people to donate.

Tobias Eigen from Kabissa presented at the Web2fordev: Remixing the Web for International Development. Google announces " Broadcast Your Cause, " a nonprofit channel on YouTube. Google qualified nonprofit organizations can use GoogleCheckout to accept charitable donations without any fees as first reported by the NTEN blog.
