Your donor database should track and report on how supporters interact with all of the channels in a campaign: email opens, social media engagement, web page visits, etc. For example, dynamic fields could allow you to display a picture of the Badlands to readers in SouthDakota, while readers in Arizona see the Red Rocks of Sedona.
