With the rise of MySpace and Facebook , it will only be a matter of time before there are Facebook consultants who can develop and implement a comprehensive Facebook strategy for organizations and campaigns. For now I’m having fun learning the ropes and hope to hold off on sending out an RFP for a MySpace campaign for as long as I can.

The average donor doesnt want to pay for "frilly" stuff like accounting software, talented executives, and fundraising campaigns. Federated campaigns often "help" their donors make giving decisions by prominently publishing such ratios next to the organizations names. After all, people want their contributions to go to programming.

Attendees learned how to work with specific data sets (FEC), track congressional activites using GovTrack.org , and keep tabs on state legislatures through projects like Knowledge As Power , which enables citizens of Washington State to track that activities of their state legislature.
