There are examples of organizations succeeding with a certain campaign but when the campaign is over, they aren’t sure what to do. At the same time I have watched organization struggle to engage with Facebook supporters in meaningful ways using just the actions Facebook has provided; Like, Share, or Comment.
However, to stand out from the other nearly one hundred million Facebook Pages vying for likes, comments, and shares, your nonprofit needs to excel at Facebook to ensure News Feed exposure. Their experience of your page will occur primarily in the News Feed. First impressions are important on social media.
In fact, it is not uncommon for social media to play a minor part in a campaign rather than being a key player. This is also why campaigns that involve tagging friends and encouraging them to pass on the message are effective. Social media makes participating in campaigns easy and fun. COVID-19 obviously changed this dynamic.

If you haven’t yet noticed, three very important changes have been made that significantly effect your organization’s Facebook community: 1) Status Updates are no longer guaranteed to get exposure in the News Feed. More are seemingly showing up in the News Feed > Most Recent view, but definitely not all.
Purchasing advertising did not increase my fan base or help my Status Updates show up in the News Feed > Top News. Additionally, purchasing adverting did not appear to have any effect on getting my Status Updates to show up more often in the News Feed > Top News. Those Status Updates that did had lots of Comments and Likes.

It’s also worth noting that they have an excellent mobile website which enables nonprofits to make their online advocacy campaigns mobile.

However, instead of including hashtags in the main body as they did on Facebook, WFP USA included several hashtags as a separate comment. However, since they can easily clutter post copy, some users include them as a separate comment, as WFP USA has done with Rani’s story.

Harness the power of setting campaign goals. . Setting goals for a fundraising campaign is an important step to ensure you are staying on track and seeing year-over-year growth. Most Classy campaign types come with a progress bar or circle showing the thermometer bubble up as more donations come in.
