While there has been some high-profile efforts to raise awareness and money, most recently by former football player Steve Gleason and his Team Gleason House , research efforts and awareness have been low compared to the other fatal diseases. Although as of this writing, the accidental campaign raised 31.5 " So why did we do it?

While I received an email thanking me at that time, their purpose was a simple update on a gift I made about 6 months prior to their Water Forward campaign. It reminded me of an experience I had when I was a high-schooler raising money for a community service trip to Ecuador with Amigos de las Americas. Color me impressed.

One of them was charity: water , a non-profit bringing safe, clean drinking water to people in developing nations that had launched a September Birthday campaign. They asked everyone born in September to give up birthday presents and ask their friends and family for donations to build water wells in Ethiopia instead.

A community group worked hard to get her placed on the historic register and raise money to restore her to her mid-century glory. The Charity for Change project is another example where charitable giving is embedded in the curriculum. They created the Popcorn For Kids Campaign.

October 2007 This campaign was for $1,000 to send a young Cambodian woman, Leng Sopharath, to college.

Every year I do a fundraising campaign using social media. For my 50th birthday, I held a 50th Birthday Card Flickr Photo Remix Party Well, a few weeks ago, I read a blog post by Amy Sample Ward about Birthday Causes, This new feature lets individuals on Facebook create a birthday fundraising campaign as part of a Cause.

When I was 9 years old, I told my parents who were volunteers in a lot of ways, our church, the summer celebration, political campaigns, I told them that I thought I wanted to help everyone in Minnesota, and so I should try to be governor of Minnesota.
