This is the second of a three-part post about what I learned about social media, NGOs, and Social Change in Cambodia during my “ homecoming trip.” ” Part 1 was about NGOs in Cambodia , focusing on the work of the Sharing Foundation. This post is about the social media community in Cambodia.
Starting this week, you can vote for the best NetSquared Innovation Fund Award nominated projects until Saturday, April 14th at Noon PDT. When you're ready, log into the NetSquared site (you can become a registered user here ) and vote for 5-10 of your favorite projects. The complete list of projects can be found here.
Netsquared Voting Deadline Extended. Due to some technical glitches , you now have 48 additional hours to figure out what 5-10 of the 150 fantastic social change and technology projects at Netsquared will receive your vote. I've known Britt now for almost three years and have enjoyed working with her at Netsquared and Blogher. Not only has she been a generous donor to every personal fundraising campaign for Cambodia I've undertaken, but she also messaged out to her community to support this cause.
After that, I discovered an interesting photo set in the Link netsquared tag stream and it was Seth Mazow, so I made him a contact. While browsing, happened to notice blogher Kalabird, who is doing NGO work in Cambodia has contributed a few. It loads ten images that all share a common tag, one by one, and you guess what the tag is.

I read on Netsquared about how Creative Commons is trying to raise money with its video on Revver and am trying it out. But every little bit helps and even pennies go far in Cambodia. I did a campaign video. They take 50%.
Unfortunately they don't have credit cards (that's a problem for some of the potential donors like the bloggers I met in Cambodia - take for example Denith ). Also on the Google Alert, I discovered that Britt Bravo has posted on the Netsquared Blog too. I want to thank everyone who has contributed so far. I tweeted that too.

Last week I blogged about an Ipod/Toilet paper holder over at Netsquared. The Sharing Foundation sends a personalized, made in Cambodia, thank you card designed by one of the talented orphans we're supporting for high school and art lessons no less ! So, somehow I'm stuck on the theme of toilet paper holders as gifts.
