Whether I'm fundraising for Cambodia or Creative Commons , I involve my kids. Network Solutions partnered with a 12-year old Connor who was raising money for hunger by selling popcorn.

Having implemented a successful campaign to raise the money to support a young college student named Leng Sopharath in Cambodia that raised $872 using the ChipIn widget, I set up a charity badge over at Network for Good to support the Sharing Foundation's educational programs which provide educational opportunities for over 1,300 children.

I asked the students what else does that? was to raise money for the Sharing Foundation to send 53 Cambodian Youngsters to school by covering the cost of their uniforms ($10 per child or $530). That means 454 youngsters will be able to attend school in Cambodia and hopefully, fine, a route out of poverty. My 53rd birthday wish.

Channy, who is very small, probably due to early malnutrition, is proud to be going to school as his mother never did (see photo). His teacher, Ying So Ry, says Channy is a very attentive, hard working student, and she sees a bright future for him. For most children in Cambodia this is a story that is all too common.

Last year, I raised the money on my blog. In her dorm room, she had photos of our family and my letters to her on the wall. which manages the program.

When I asked her how much money that was and how she was trying to save for it, she was in a shelter at the time. She said that two hundred dollars was the amount of money that she was trying to save up. There was a woman I met a couple of years ago who said that all she ever wanted was to build her own noodle shop.
