On February 16th in Los Altos, California, I shared these thoughts on Robin Seaman’s impact on the world with her family and friends at her Celebration of Life. We had just won the national contract to supply ALL disabled students in the United States, with ALL the books they needed to read to succeed in school, for free.

I want to unveil several of these new initiatives, as well as sneaking in some of the incredible things happening in our core programs in literacy and human rights. We’re thrilled that students and other readers who have disabilities that keep them from reading standard print can now read the same books as their peers, using the same devices.

Local language content and locally relevant context has facilitated the transition into local ownership.

We’ll be in California in January, we just left. So, for example, if I provide an after-school program, I just use that a lot because I ran an after-school program for over a decade, but if I’m delivering academic programs, then I’m going to be looking at the number of students served. So we’re going to dive in.
