One way to get organized and more strategic is to use an editorial calendar. An editorial calendar provides you with a broad overview of your whole content marketing plan and outlines exactly what needs to be completed when. Here are six steps to getting your editorial calendar started. Make your calendar shareable.
The tech underground model (loose yet organized affiliation of npo techs who share skills and back each other up) is one of the good models out there. While onsite, I put reminders on my smartphone calendar to make sure I do critical things during my next ‘free time,’ or I send myself an email to do it at home that night.
Any organization—especially a young fledging non-profit—needs to build up a little street cred, and a great way to do this is to get your website link on another site, preferably one that is respected and receives strong user traffic.
You could create a welcome kit of sorts, giving this core group a packaged promotional plan, including do’s and don’ts for speaking about your organization, the history of your NPO, the programs and services you offer, a directory of friendly and relevant places to spread the word, a calendar of events, etc.
If you haven’t started with social media yet and have nothing to review, this is a great time to realize the potential that you have with your digital presence and start thinking about the message you want your NPO to convey. The post 5 Steps to Lay the Groundwork for Your NPO’s Social Media Plan appeared first on Nonprofit Hub.
Check out the full conference agenda and add events to your calendar. On Thursday, March 13, join Idealist Consulting''s NPO Party (pre-registration required) , and then on Friday, March 14 get ready for the Progressive Party at night. Find a full list of all attendees, speakers, sponsors, and exhibitors. Continue the party.
Of course, your NPO likely doesn’t have a multi-million dollar marketing budget, but the message in this campaign was clear and consistent across all of these media channels. Formulate different ways to deliver your message and create a content calendar for the duration of this campaign. Take the Share a Coke campaign, for example.
IF YOUR GOAL IS TO…tell your organization’s story… This one may seem silly to include, but it’s worth the reminder—you don’t have to wait for a magical date on the calendar, or a single publication, to tell your organization’s story! That’s what your website, email, and social media are for, 365 days a year.
