The book famine may be receding here in the United States with Bookshare and the increasing advent of universally designed and accessible ebooks, but globally we have only scratched the surface of the need. That treaty should replicate the successful copyright exception here in the U.S.

Benetech's newest project is a software tool called Miradi that helps environmental practitioners design, manage, monitor and learn from their projects to more effectively meet the needs of global biodiversity. It is open source software, but we're experimenting with a revenue model to sustain the project over the long term.

Many blogs, like the Razoo blog , went red on Thursday as part of Free Burma: International Bloggers Day. So, do check out the Audio/Video Edition of the NGO-in-a-Box which includes a collection of Free and Open Source Software tools. Unfortunately, not the best thing for global nonprofits. Early detection is important.
