I read the book. I was going to write a review and do a book giveaway, but I stumbled upon Wiser Earth blogger Angus Parker's excellent review. We have read a lot of books over the last year that aimed to be the "go to" source for understanding Social Media. Note from Beth: I got a review copy. It rocked.
April 23, 2008 NTEN is doing some great work getting information about the use of different kinds of tools in the sector, and how people are using them. and how they like them. They are doing a CMS satisfaction survey, and the more info that they get, the better. So go rate your CMS ! {
NTEN is trying to get a handle on all of this, and find out what people use, and how much they like what they use. It’s such an interesting space, and there are some really intriguing things happening with software in that space. I can’t wait to get my grubby little fingers on the data on CiviCRM and Salesforce.
NTEN keeps surprising me with cool stuff for nonprofit tech peeps. Check out the book club , reading Media Rules! Last year’s winner was Barry Warsaw, lead developer of the awesome Mailman mailing list manager. Ruby Sinreich is a new phenomenon ! You go girl! And I’m on the board! And the video with the kids is very cute.
I want to give huge props to Holly and all of the NTEN crew for putting on a fabulous conference. Rob Stuart Yesterday, Rob Stuart, one of the founding individuals of the NTEN community, passed away. Many of you won't ever have had the pleasure of meeting Rob, but when NTEN was founded, over a decade ago, Rob Stuart was at the table, shaping the vision of what NTEN could become. Rob built movements.
And, I’m an avid reader, so the idea of being able to carry a bunch of books with me in a small package (instead of the usual very heavy pile I travel with) is quite appealing. And $10 a book is great – I love the idea of not using all of that paper. Can’t share books – I like to loan out my books to people.

Earlier this month, I participated in a social media library giveaway organized by Steve Cunningham , who like me, loves books. He writes a blog called " Read It To Me " that summarizes business books and also hosts Webinars with authors. I had over 60 comments and boy was it hard to choose only one winner - so I didn't.
It’s still mighty small (still around 2%), but Linux Desktop market share grew from 40-60% (depending on who you ask) from last year. Adobe (yeah, Adobe ) joined the Linux Foundation , and released a Linux alpha of Air , their new application platform. {
