Love & Devices | BlogHer - Susan Mernit has a wonderful piece on BlogHer about her "connection" (not addiction) to technology. 2009 NTC Orientation Call | NTEN: The Nonprofit Technology Network - Are you heading the 09NTC this year? These are some links I wanted to share from April 3rd. Find me on Delicious for more!
The NTC Ride/Room Share Board. Last summer, I remember seeing Britt Bravo photographing the trash at the Blogher Conference. She was creating a visual for this post, " Can't Blogher Conference Be Greener Next Year ?" In the comments, there is also a pointer to NTC's Green FAQ. I'm too old.
The 2007 NTC Conference is around the corner, well in April, but some discount pricing deadlines coming right up. Even though for many years I've had a paying gig with NTEN to coordinate the Day of Service at the Nonprofit Technology Conference (NTC) -- it is THE conference to attend if you work with technology and nonprofits.
I even planned an NTC panel on one ) There are already a few good resources already planted on the wiki, including a Best Practices wiki by my colleague Andy Roberts. (I Amy Gahran's wiki for blogher posts - to organize them from the huge tag stream that came out of the conference. Classroom.
(Nancy live blogged Linda Stone's presentation and flickred lots of photos ) I think Annette's points on improving the conference dialogue between ideamakers and toolmakers is something that might be useful at the NTC Conference hosted by N-TEN. Photo Credit: on Flickr by Beth Kanter
This is what Clay Shirky was saying during the NTC Keynote when he said there was always a small group in the center of the groundswell. I think it was 2006 when the entire room of 1400 bloggers burst into spontaneous singing of this song at BlogHer.
I had a chance to reconnect again with Michelle when she signed up to volunteer for the NTC Day of Service. Cross posted at Blogher You can learn more about her impressive accomplishments by reading the official CV/Bio at her web site. Here's my interview: 1. Why the heck would you ever want to give it a way for free by volunteering?
And more recently, I received a childcare options survey from Blogher as part of the planning for this summer's conference. I'm about to leave for almost a week in Seattle at the NTC , the annual conference for nonprofit techies. I read Lisa Canter's post about taking her young kids (Mimi and Lucy) to the SXSW Conference and smiled.
You don't necessarily see women keynote at technology conferences (well accept for women focused technology conferences like blogher ), but Geoff was trying hard ensure a gender balanced program and succeeded. Geoff Livingston invited me to keynote the conference along with Shel Israel , author of Twitterville.
