My fellow BlogHer co-editor, Beth Kanter , has launched a fundraising campaign using ChipIn. Between now and December 31st, Beth is working to raise $750 for the Sharing Foundation , an NGO that works with local officials, orphanages, and NGOs in Cambodia to improve children's lives.
The site connects with individuals who want to help out. Donors Choose (which came my way via Blogher Lisa Stone's sister!) Disclosure: I'm on the board of the Sharing Foundation and our NGO was nominated. is a simple way to provide students in need with resources that our public schools often lack.
The last BlogHer Conference session I went to yesterday, before leaving early to go to a wedding, was about using blogging for Community Assistance. When she began getting up to 100 requests a day for survivor information, Sara directed people to survivor sites and other resources. You don’t have to create a nonprofit or NGO.
He did his degree in NGO Management, and will be graduating this coming June. So, now people can go on the site and support projects. Cross-posted from BlogHer.
