I am sitting here amazed that we were able to meet the campaign goal for the Cambodia Bloggers Summit in about week's time. The good folks at ChipIn , the personal fundraising widget that I used for this campaign, put forth a challenge. This not only gave me courage to launch this campaign, but helped leverage contributions.

Inspired by Kalyn Denny's new Meatless Monday column on BlogHer , I decided to cook five meatless meals for dinner last week. Meatless Monday is a nonprofit initiative of The Monday Campaigns. Their goal is to help reduce meat consumption by 15% to improve personal and planetary health.

I was concerned at one point that the donations I'd received from these sorts of campaigns might be "transactional" - in that new donors to my charity would only contribute once and that was that.
