I started blogging in 2003 about nonprofits and social media and started second blog about Cambodia, “Cambodia for Kids” after the arrival of my daughter, Sara and discovering that there was a vibrant community of bloggers in Cambodia. Here’s a video and blog post I wrote for Blogher back then.

In early July, I posted about a Basic Blogging for Women Workshop I'd be teaching this fall, but after talking to some prospective students, I decided that it was important to find a space where everyone could be on a computer, so I changed the date and the venue so that we can be in a computer lab. 125 if received after October 9th.
The idea is to bring together students, professional Bloggers, writers, NGO workers, media, and tech gurus from within and outside Cambodia to share and learn more from each other on about how the ICT (including Open Source Software and Web2.0 A conference workshop on blogging techniques and video blogging techniques.

But when I realized it would take a long time before a small NGO working in a country, like say, Cambodia, might be able to purchase a small number of them (less than 100) to outfit a school, I was disappointed. The last BlogHer Conference session I went to yesterday, before leaving early to go to a wedding, was about using blogging for Community Assistance. Your blog needs to be a place to “help the helper.” Work with traditional media and blogs to get the word out about your work. You don’t have to create a nonprofit or NGO.
