DREAM (formerly Harlem RBI) DREAM’s annual report is doing everything right: beautiful images, student stories, and (of course) thanking their donors. We especially love how they paired a full-page image of a student with key stats that support the organization’s overall mission, a mix of showing and telling.

The content focuses on the question of WHY we collect and how our collections reflect our individual and community identities. While the Love exhibition was popular, it was our first attempt at full integration of interdisciplinary content on a big human idea, interactivity, and participation. A million thanks to them.

Several libraries have started to offer gaming nights where you can drink soda and play Wii to your heart's content. Librarian Aaron Schmidt tells the great story of a game night of Dance, Dance, Revolution at his library in which a teen asked him: “Hey Aaron, can I go upstairs to grab a magazine and book to read?” I don't think so.

It was fascinating to see people--across social differences--responding to representations of love in the paintings, images, objects and narratives that were part of the installation. The content of the Love Lounge focuses on individuals from Santa Cruz County, historic and current, and the crazy things they have done for love.

Donor-focused content. The Center does a fantastic job of streamlining their content and presenting it in a way that’s engaging, informative, and inviting, right from the homepage. For a site with so much content, the Center has maintained strong organization made possible by their comprehensive (yet clear) top navbar.
