Other terms used to describe a Web Widget include Gadget, Badge, Module, Capsule, Snippet, Mini and Flake. Here's a few examples: Delicious Badge : I use this widget to publish my social bookmarking bookmarks on my blog. When I produced this screencast, widgets for fundraising or charity badges were just being announced.
