Sunday, August 29, 2010 Use New-Hire Employee Badges If you lead an organization that uses employee ID badges, considering using a different color or a special designation on the badges for newly hired employees for at least their first 30 days and ideally up to 60 days. Some people call this a "hello" culture.

There are other projects underway to solve it, including the MedBiquitous Activity Report standard and (in a sense) the Mozilla Open Badges project. As Mark Iafrate of Accredible , an evangelist for badges, has suggested, these standards could continue to exist in a layered system that rests atop distributed ledgers. We are all for it.

I must admit that I've never found this definition very helpful. I was really impressed by the diversity of artifacts in Welcome to Pine Point --from yearbook photos to VFW badges to video and photos from the 1980s and today. It also, in my opinion, has something to learn from the museum model. It uses multimedia beautifully.
