The association offered a half-day seminar, “Marketing 101”, to nonprofit groups throughout the state of Nebraska. The agenda included speakers from the region as well as some outside the state of Nebraska for the first time. Nine scholarships for attendees were awarded. Sadly, John Haydon passed away in 2020 from cancer.

Parkinson’s Nebraska used the walk concept to inspire their Walk the State fundraiser, which asked participants to communally walk the distance it would take to cross the state of Nebraska. That’s why cancer research fundraisers that ask participants to shave their head are so viral. The more dramatic the better.
