It is a digital reality – a cyberspace made up of multiple virtual worlds – that combines components of social media, gaming, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), cryptocurrencies, and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). As of now, nonprofits, activism, and philanthropy are virtually non-existent in the metaverse (pun intended).
