Google’s software makes the Honor 50 a contender rather than competitive It’s rare that you need to get into geopolitics at the outset of a smartphone review, but it’s impossible to avoid with the Honor 50. It’s the first Honor-branded device to release outside of China since the brand spun out from parent company Huawei last year.
The 16:10 aspect ratio gives you an extra bit of vertical space, in addition to space on the sides. percent screen-to-body ratio, which Dell says is higher than any competitors. They produce impressive audio that’s close to that of a decent external speaker. I never once had to zoom out to see a full webpage. It has a 93.7
In this review I’m looking at the Summit Series , which is MSI’s attempt to enter the same space. Gen 1, one combination audio jack, one microSD reader, and one HDMI jack, in addition to the barrel-plug power port. Audio jack, HDMI, USB-C, USB-A, and power port on the left. Gen 2, one USB 3.2
The combination of Sony’s trademark 21:9 aspect ratio with a slightly smaller 6.1-inch The Xperia 5 II’s screen’s aspect ratio makes it hard to reach the top of the screen when using it one-handed, but you get a lot more useful screen real estate across many apps like Twitter or Gmail.
My $799 review unit has the Ryzen 5-4500U, along with 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. A big part of that is the display: the 2020 Envy has an 88 percent screen-to-body ratio, compared to 79 percent on last year’s model. The Envy comes with stereo speakers and a Bang & Olufsen audio control center. Don’t buy last year’s Spectre.
On the sides live an audio jack, a USB-A, a microSD slot, and an additional Thunderbolt 4, which is a decent selection — gone is the trapdoor that covered the USB-A port on the 13-inch model.) It’s kept the same 90 percent screen-to-body ratio.). On the right: two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, one audio jack, one microSD card slot.
It has a big screen with a high refresh rate, a tall aspect ratio that might make it easier for people with smaller hands to use, and OnePlus’ light-touch take on Android. Somewhat unusually, the N10 5G offers a very tall 20:9 aspect ratio on its screen. Dual speakers provide stereo sound for videos, but audio quality isn’t great.
USB-C, USB-A, audio jack on the left. Gen 1 Type-A, and a 3.5mm combination audio jack. If you’re looking for an affordable Netflix machine, the Spin is a great candidate — especially given its movie-friendly 16:9 aspect ratio. My one disappointment was audio. It’s also quite portable at 2.65
There’s a hodgepodge of other stuff, too, including a 3:2 display (an aspect ratio you don’t see every day in the X1 series), a haptic touchpad, and a top cover that’s — as the name implies — actually made of titanium. Power button, audio jack, lock slot on the right. There’s one audio jack and one Kensington lock slot as well.).
Less than 12-hours after the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro’s reviews started dropping online, and all the camera enthusiasts trying to determine whether the Pixel 6 Pro or the iPhone 13 Pro Max has the best smartphone camera, Sony wants to be in the mix with the Xperia Pro-I. Its main 24mm lens has dual aperture (f2.0/f4.4) Image: Sony.
So I opened up my review unit of Asus’ $828 Chromebook CX5 prepared to complain. While that would be a midrange price for a Windows laptop, it’s high for a Chromebook ( and most other reviewers have panned the thing for its price ). Gen 2 Type-A, an audio combo jack, and a microSD slot (no Thunderbolt support, though).
inch version, Mini LED lets blacks be truly black, offers a high contrast ratio, and can also get very bright. If you are also not a display quality enthusiast, you might be left unimpressed with descriptions of nits and contrast ratios. This review has focused a lot on the 12.9, Photo by Vjeran Pavic / The Verge.
GoPro calls this the “Drain Mic” and explained that it is designed to drain itself after the camera is submerged, which should make for clearer audio when you’re coming up out of water. You can change the screen ratio of the front screen, what information it displays, or toggle it on and off in the Hero 9’s menu.
percent screen-to-body ratio, while this year’s clocks in at 90 percent. The screen is also brighter than its predecessor’s (321 nits as tested, to last year’s 300 nits) with great colors and contrast, though its 16:9 aspect ratio is a bit cramped. one combination audio jack, and Acer’s AC port. Last year’s model had an 86.4
I was able to write this entire review on the Duet, but going back to the 13-inch 3:2 screen on my personal computer felt like a whole new world. The display does have a 16:10 aspect ratio, which I appreciate — and if you’re used to using 16:9 panels, you’ll notice the extra vertical space.
Study participants included seven computer vision researchers, audio ML researchers, and engineers across three ML teams. Researchers optimize the model with quantitative metrics on a fixed set of data, but real-world performance requires human reviewers to evaluate in the application context.
The 13-inch OLED Zenbook we reviewed last year delivered a vivid and bright experience, and such a screen could be a good option for multimedia viewing. In terms of connectivity, there’s an audio jack (which has been missing from some recent Zenbooks), and there are three USB 3.2 About the screen: it’s a 2.8K
We reviewed three of the new MacBook Pros: a $4,399 16-inch model with an M1 Max processor with 32 GPU cores, 64GB of RAM, and 2TB of storage; and 16- and 14-inch models with M1 Pros with 16-core GPUs, 32GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage that list for $3,099 and $2,899 respectively. The MagSafe 3 connector is great, a true classic.
I went into this review with two main questions: does the 1165G7 beat its Intel predecessor (the 1065G7, which powers the most recent Dell XPS 13 ) and does it beat AMD’s Ryzen 7 4800U (part of Lenovo’s IdeaPad Slim 7 )? Yep, there’s no audio jack; Asus nixed that for the UX425. The UX425 is light for a 14-inch laptop at 2.49
Remarkable tech for a steep price This laptop was a pain in the neck to review. Another unusual point of praise: The audio was good. The Latitude takes advantage of what Dell calls a “smart amp” to improve bass and reduce distortion, as well as tuning from Waves Maxx Audio software.
There’s the Dell Optimizer program which (in theory) learns your behavior over time and tailors everything from audio quality to charging speed accordingly. The speakers (two upward-firing and two downward-firing) deliver average volume but clear audio with booming bass and percussion. percent screen-to-body ratio. Gen 1 Type-A.
But my favorite aspect of this display (and of this Chromebook as a whole) is the 3:2 aspect ratio. Two USB-C, an HDMI, and an audio jack on the left. The first is that its audio is thin, and I heard a bit of distortion at maximum volume. My review model is $699.99 The Spin also supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0.
Type-A Gen 1, a combo audio jack, a microSD reader, and a Kensington lock. And I’m not a fan of its 16:9 aspect ratio — Chromebooks that use 3:2 or 16:10 displays are able to cram noticeably more screen real estate into a smaller chassis. USB-C, USB-A, audio jack, microSD on the left. Type-C Gen 1, one USB 3.1 Glossy IPS finish.
Note, though, that the ScreenPad is small and has a very narrow aspect ratio, making it best suited to running streams in the background or stealing a glance at Twitter here and there; reading in depth or doing any actual work on it is pretty cramped. I’m sure you can see your own uses for this; it’s like having a miniature, built-in monitor.
inch screen is cramped for a desktop OS like Chrome OS (though it is bright enough to use outdoors, and I appreciate that it has a 16:10 aspect ratio — 16:9 would be unbearable for me at this size). Zoom calls were possible — which is more than can be said for some budget Chromebooks — but I did run into lag between audio and video inputs.
Starting with what’s new: the 16:10 aspect ratio is here. inches wide, where the Gen 5’s ( much maligned by reviewers for its small size) was just four. The X1 Yoga’s 16:10 aspect ratio is certainly a bonus, as are the lack of bloatware and the matte display. Fingerprint reader and power button in one. No fingerprints here.
Its 16:9 aspect ratio display feels cramped, and its keys are spaced a little too far apart. Both of these models also have displays with a more generous aspect ratio than the Element Lite, which is a boon for productivity work. inch, 1080p touchscreen with a 60Hz refresh rate and a 16:9 aspect ratio. It’s also too expensive.
But there’s one area where it’s far ahead of the pack — the audio. There’s actually a 14-inch laptop out there with very good audio. I’m not exaggerating when I say this is the best audio I’ve ever heard from a laptop of this size. Type-A Gen 2, two Thunderbolt 4, and an audio combo jack. Yes, you read that correctly.
Aspect ratio aside, the screen on this device is quite good. USB-A, lock slot, audio jack on the right. Sure, reviewers felt that the Gen 8’s was a bit small. The X1 Carbon Gen 9 also has an improved Dolby Atmos audio system. Two USB-C, a USB-A, and an HDMI on the left. The second thing that’s been upgraded: the hinge.
That screen is bright and sharp at 267 PPI and maintains the Surface’s 3:2 aspect ratio. It’s paired with Microsoft Studio mics for audio, while the rear camera has support for 4K video. We’ll need to do actual testing in the review, but my initial take is that it was too subtle and inconsistent to be meaningful.
My only gripe with either display is that they have 16:10 aspect ratios and therefore a much smaller surface area than their iPad Pro counterparts. The hardware is top-notch, the display is perhaps the best you can get on any mobile device, and the audio experience is excellent.
one microSD slot, and one combo audio jack. Aspect ratio aside, the 1920 x 1200 display on our review unit was quite bright, maxing out at 494 nits in my testing. It’s slightly lighter than the Blade Stealth , at 0.6 inches thick and 3.09 Gen 1, one HDMI 2.0, The biggest change, though, is the 16:10 touch display.
Read our review. In his review published earlier this year, Verge reviewer Chris Welch praised these comfortable, water-resistant earbuds for their good quality audio, both in and out of phone calls. Read our review. In our review , we noted how the X12’s processor and 3:2 aspect ratio display impressed us.
inch screen has a respectable 83 percent screen-to-body ratio. The audio gets quite loud, but it has very little bass or definition, and there’s some weird distortion in the lower tones around maximum volume. Game audio was fine, but blasting my Spotify library was just a weird experience.
They include calendar and reminders (you can import calendars from Google, Apple, and Microsoft), shopping list, sticky notes, smart home controls, a to-do list (Alexa only), weather, your commute, photos, maps, music and audio, reorder suggestions, Alexa suggestions, and your Amazon deliveries.

An unaffiliated study from Harvard Business Review found 82% of companies believe that, out of all technologies, AI has the potential to “significantly” improve alignment between sales and marketing by introducing accountability. Image Credits: Zoom.
It’s not perfect, but it’s practical Recently, I’ve reviewed a large number of Chromebooks aimed at students. The display on my review unit is a 300-nit 1920 x 1080 IPS panel. It does have the cramped 16:9 aspect ratio, something I’ve been glad to see other ThinkPads shifting away from this year.
3.5mm audio / microphone jack, two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports. Lenovo has adopted the roomier 16:10 and 3:2 aspect ratios on a number of its premium ThinkPads, and HP should do the same with the Dragonfly. It’s targeting a very specific deep-pocketed business user. This is a seriously impressive keyboard. It’s quite light, at just 2.49
Type-C, one NanoSIM, and one audio jack. A feature I’m quite excited about is the aspect ratio. It’s been nice to see manufacturers across the board abandon the cramped 16:9 aspect ratio, and 3:2 is my favorite kind of screen to use. In terms of ports, don’t get too excited: there’s a whopping one Thunderbolt 4, one USB 3.2
What’s exciting about the M16 is that it has a QHD, 165Hz display with a 16:10 aspect ratio. The M16 has a 94 percent screen-to-body ratio, meaning it has smaller bezels in relation to its size than the Dell XPS 15 and almost any other consumer laptop on the market. Image: Asus. AMD has set a high bar in that regard.
We haven’t reviewed the Elite 4 Active yet, but Jabra has a record of delivering solid sound quality, so they’re likely decent in that department as well. Read our review. The camera can even double as a baby monitor thanks to its ability to send audio notifications for loud noises and baby cries. Read our review.
This model of the ubiquitous white earbuds wasn’t a big step forward compared to the first iteration, but our reviewer was still happy with their wireless performance and overall reliability. This 48-inch soundbar from the audio experts at Klipsch is currently enjoying a deep discount at Woot. Normally $300, they’re $200 for now.
