Given Sony’s photography ambitions for the 5 II, I’ll allow it the physical shutter control, but the Google Assistant button feels unnecessary — especially in a position that’s too low to be convenient to press. Sony’s approach to smartphone photography is twofold. The pro photography mode gives you a wealth of controls.

According to a press release announcing the hire, while there he worked on compression tech for audio and video and streaming protocols that are used for YouTube and Chrome. He’s also worked on spatial experiences and reportedly had a hand in leading Google’s Android VR efforts.
Bose’s sporty shades offer good sound, a steady fit, and total awareness It’s still fair to call audio sunglasses a niche category, but with Bose offering several models, Amazon in the game , and counting recent announcements from Razer and JLab , it’s certainly a growing one. Describing the sound quality of audio sunglasses can be tricky.
It’s tactile and actually presses in instead of relying on capacitive touch sensors. I greatly prefer this approach since you won’t have to deal with accidental presses as often when adjusting the earbuds. The button only requires a light press, so you’re not constantly jamming the buds deeper into your ears.
It also has a 3.5mm headphone jack, giving you another way to listen to audio — even if your iPhone doesn’t have the port itself. The Lightning port supports passthrough charging, as well as audio for Lightning EarPods. A full look at what you’ll see when you press the orange Backbone button.
That said, they still sound very good for the price; Sony rarely skimps on audio quality. Track controls are on the right earbud: tap once for pause / play, press twice to skip tracks, and three times to go back. The C500s lack the noise cancellation, LDAC support, and richer audio experience of the much pricier 1000XM4s.
Good sound quality and best-in-class noise cancellation come in an awkwardly big case Bose’s original true wireless earbuds, the SoundSport Free, sounded fantastic but were foiled by connectivity problems and audio / video sync issues that the company never fully resolved. But at twice the thickness of an AirPods case, it could be for some.
This makes for a compact, pocketable design, but the trade-off is that removing them from the case isn’t so simple: you’ve got to press down on the stem, which pushes up the main earbud portion, and then pluck that out of the case. Photography by Chris Welch / The Verge. Once you’ve done it a few times, you’ll have it down.
The tap controls work just like those on the Galaxy Buds Plus: single tap to pause, double to skip, three to go back, and you can customize what a long press does. This spaciousness lends well to audio quality, which is dynamic and full-bodied. Each bud has a 12-millimeter driver and a bass duct for more powerful audio.
Mapping the paddles to one of the Fusion Pro’s buttons is simple, requiring a few button presses. Then you tap the button you’d like to have remapped, then press the paddle to which you’d like it to be assigned. You’ll only get audio through the Fusion Pro’s 3.5mm audio jack if you’re in USB mode.
These picks won’t fully match the audio fidelity or deep bench of features of premium earbuds. The Jib True earbuds never made me want to rip them out of my ears from audio agony, and I consider that a win. They’ve got smaller drivers than the regular OnePlus Buds but still output a nicely rounded audio profile. OnePlus Buds Z.
So, not the kind of isolation you might be looking for if every audio cue counts. Double-pressing the power button triggers the virtual 7.1 Photography by Cameron Faulkner. The controls are easy to use. Not counting the volume dial on the right ear cup, there are just two buttons on the left ear cup: power and microphone mute.
The new regular AirPods get a lot right even before the gimmicky spatial audio part For the first time since their introduction in 2016, Apple’s AirPods have a completely new design. Apple’s non-remappable controls handle media playback, and you can summon Siri with a long press. The tap gestures from the old AirPods are gone.
It supports two concurrent Bluetooth connections with the A2DP codec, letting you flip between them with a button press on the speaker itself or through its companion app. Additionally, it has a 3.5mm input and a digital optical audio port, letting you connect another two devices. Press F8 to adjust the keyboard’s brightness. Two USB-C, an HDMI, and an audio jack on the left. It’s easy to press, but the material and the click both feel a bit plasticky. Gen 2 ports, one HDMI, one microSD, and one combination audio jack. Photography by Monica Chin / The Verge. They’re just not very loud.
Photo Illustration by Alex Castro | Photography by Spotify. The company wants to be at the center of creator monetization Spotify hosted an event on Monday to discuss its ambitions in audio, and one message came through loud and clear: the company wants to play a major role in helping creators make money. What are your thoughts on it?
Like the 14 Ultra before it, it looks like the 15 Ultra will be a photography powerhouse, with the phone rumored to feature a 1-inch main sensor and 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. The press release said that IVAS would "allows people to hear sound spatially in real-time, making conversations and interaction natural, and lifelike."
On the sides live an audio jack, a USB-A, a microSD slot, and an additional Thunderbolt 4, which is a decent selection — gone is the trapdoor that covered the USB-A port on the 13-inch model.) I was delighted when I heard a car offscreen and the audio tracked as it passed through the scene from the left to right speakers. I live with all of my phone’s notifications and audio signals on mute, so without the audio cue, I missed it when I only half-pressed the shutter on a few occasions, thinking I’d fully pressed it.
For cloud gaming to work well, companies like Amazon need to rapidly deliver compressed video frames that respond to your button presses even if internet bandwidth dips and even if your house isn’t located right next to an Amazon server farm. Photography by Chaim Gartenberg / The Verge. Hopefully, you saved before you quit.
On the left are two USB-C ports, one HDMI, and one audio jack; on the right, two USB-A 3.2 Again, that may not be the biggest deal for some, but it’s worth considering how many times per day you press space and backspace and how many squeaks that means you’ll be hearing. The Cosmos Plus come with a color-matched hard case, charging cable, audio cable, and boom mic in the box. As for the audio specs, the Cosmos Plus have 40mm neodymium drivers, similar to many other over-ear Bluetooth headphones. Photography by Dan Seifert / The Verge.
There’s still a circular button on each earbud that responds to single, double, and triple presses. Multipoint works well on the 85t earbuds, seamlessly switching back and forth between your phone and PC or tablet based on what’s actively playing audio. Photography by Chris Welch / The Verge.
The attention to detail is impressive, with accurate inscriptions and colors across all four models, and Sega even managed to find room for a headphone jack so you can experience Game Gear audio in glorious stereo. The 1 and 2 action buttons are a little wobbly, but they’re so small that it’s hard not to press them with precision.
Long-press a notification in the conversations section, and you can choose between three options: Priority, Alerting, and Silent. You can still long-press a notification to quickly adjust how (or if) a notification appears. You will also get a new button, which lets you choose where your audio is going.
The same spatial audio with dynamic head tracking. The wing tip is flexible and pliable enough that it doesn’t press into the concha of your ear in an annoying way. But there’s one interesting tidbit: for the first time, you can remap a long press to adjust volume instead of toggling noise cancellation or summoning Siri.
But it’s also designed to slot into Sonos’ multiroom audio platform and showcase the versatility that comes with it. But this is not a cylinder-style speaker that shoots audio in all directions. They’re easy to feel for and hard to press accidentally. Repeat the process, and audio moves back to the Roam.
The keys are comfortable to press, too. The space bar on my unit was a bit squeaky, making it both cringey to press and awkward to listen to all day. This is a small thing, but think of how many times a day you press the space bar. Game audio was fine, but blasting my Spotify library was just a weird experience.
And the two products go tit for tat in their core video and audio streaming features despite the older model often being discounted; at the time of this review, the regular Fire TV Stick 4K is on sale for $33.99. You’ve still got to press and hold the Alexa button for voice searches or smart home commands.
And to round it all out, Roku throws in two customizable shortcut buttons that you can program to remember any voice command and repeat it with a press. On the left side is a 3.5mm jack that will pass the audio from your Roku TV or Roku streaming device to whatever headphones you plug in. The new $29.99
You can only pair these with one device at a time, whereas the company’s other products can connect to two audio sources simultaneously. The right earbud handles audio controls, while the left summons your preferred voice assistant. Photography by Chris Welch / The Verge. And they’ve got a nice click.
There’s the Dell Optimizer program which (in theory) learns your behavior over time and tailors everything from audio quality to charging speed accordingly. The speakers (two upward-firing and two downward-firing) deliver average volume but clear audio with booming bass and percussion. Photography by Monica Chin / The Verge.
This does require a surprisingly firm press — I usually had to thunk it a couple times.) Yep, there’s no audio jack; Asus nixed that for the UX425. Photography by Monica Chin / The Verge. Charging speed was also fine, but not mind-blowing — it took 58 minutes and 40 seconds to juice up to 60 percent (during light use).
At the beach, I could let loose with the audio a bit more. I unboxed the table at 5:30PM, pressed the power button, and. I was also charging a Kindle at this time and streaming Bluetooth audio out the JBL speaker from the iPhone. Photography by Thomas Ricker / The Verge. Moreover, it makes life just a little bit better.
While I usually have to push pretty hard to get keyboards to bend, the area under the Shift key trampolined with a firm thumb press. Audio is standard laptop fare: it gets impressively loud without audible distortion, but percussion and bass are almost nonexistent. Photography by Monica Chin / The Verge.
The G2H camera also features two-way audio, ultra-wide 140-degree coverage, 1080p resolution, infrared night vision, definable activity zones, and a magnetic mount for easy placement on tables, walls, or the ceiling. I like the finish of the H1 and the reassuring heavy-mechanical click it makes when pressed.
Like the Pixel 6 and OnePlus 9, the Moto Edge doesn’t have a dedicated Google Assistant button or a 3.5mm audio jack anywhere. Face unlock has some customization options: you can choose to press the power button to activate the feature or to simply lift the phone and face the front camera to unlock the phone.
I have to press the Fn key every time I want to pause music or adjust the volume. The hardware is top-notch, the display is perhaps the best you can get on any mobile device, and the audio experience is excellent. Photography by Dan Seifert / The Verge.
You might see an over representation of Point Lobos- this is because of the pre-conference digital photography workshop a few of us (including me!) As an alternative, we created a Cafe Press shop with many more kinds of t-shirts then we could normally provide, plus other goodies. cc licensed flickr photo shared by cogdogblog.
Both phones include a 3.5mm audio jack on top, volume rocker on the right side, non-customizable Google Assistant button on the left, plus a USB-C port and a pair of bottom-firing dual speakers. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a better phone for $250 than the 20S. Photography by Gloria Sin / The Verge. Its vibrant 6.67-inch

So you can take a call or have audio from any app come through from a phone, tablet, or a PC mixed in with the sound coming from your Xbox console. In addition to how the headset looks, its functionality is similar to the Surface Headphones, with twistable dials on the outside of each ear cup for adjusting elements of the audio.
It's ridiculously easy to connect the Mic 2 to your Pocket 3 — literally just turn it on — and it provides noticeably clearer audio than the Osmo Pocket 3's on-device mic. The hat even has a small slot at the back for you to pull your ponytail through, so it isn't uncomfortably pressed against the back of your skull.
When you plug headphones into its 3.5mm headphone jack, the panel of buttons at the top of the Recon can be used to make a host of changes to your game and chat audio as well as your microphone. The Recon also lets you adjust the game audio and the chat volume independently with two rockers, one at each side. controller.
