We expect that many of the big issues with the current text will get ironed out this week.

The Treaty of Marrakesh, Top Issues: What’s the goal of the Treaty? So, this means books, periodicals and other similar textual works, including audio versions of those titles. It covers music in the form of sheet music, but not audio or videos of performances. or similar laws in other countries like India and the EU.

This is totally the “how sausage and law are made” view, so don’t read this unless you want to know more about global accessibility in detail! WIPO has a mandate from its member states, and is working to address the need to change laws and get more accessible books flowing. law works: the one that made Bookshare possible.

It is narrower than the Treaty, and is not binding as a treaty would be (some call it “soft law” compared to the “hard law” of a treaty). A definition of formats that includes Braille, audio and digital text, but excludes large print and video. law (this is a wildcard issue right now). . • Excludes video. •

I came away with a much better understanding of the issues they are exploring and certainly did my part to articulate why I support the positions we have. copyright exemption for serving the print disabled is commonly called the Chafee Amendment: Section 121 of copyright law. copyright law. And the podcasts became an extension of that, because I realized I wanted to do interviews, and it was a great way to do the interviews and have them in an audio form for people who are interested in audio, and then also I get them transcribed and put them on the blog. Then I'm interested in Fair Trade issues. We think up ideas.
