When I became the director of the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History four years ago, I took this work with me. As time has gone on, my attention has shifted from the tactic of participation to the outcome of building community. Right now, we're working hard to empower Latino residents to see themselves in our museum.

Before the global pandemic, intergenerational poverty and entrenched patterns of inequality dampened the future livelihoods of millions of children and their families across the globe. CRUS’ Innovation and Growth Fund , launched in 2021, will contribute significantly to the global movement to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty.
