These are the slides and notes for the talk I gave at the American Alliance of Museums conference on Monday, April 27 about the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History. As time has gone on, my attention has shifted from the tactic of participation to the outcome of building community. WHO (slides 3-23) "Community” is not an abstraction.
