"I think about how many times I didn't like the color of my skin, because I didn't see myself in any art. Favianna is the co-founder of the EastSide Arts Alliance and Visual Element. The kind of art I do is art that gets engaged into the public. I think that it's a shame, because art, I think, is a human right for anyone.

Eventually, we may build a certification program, like LEED for green buildings, or B Corps for social enterprise. The First Wave includes 6 museums, 5 performing arts organizations, 3 public libraries, 3 parks, and 3 community centers. Half are led by people of color or indigenous people. We represent six countries and ten time zones.
