Their goals are to end preventable maternal health risks and deaths, end preventable preterm birth and infant death, and close the health equity gap. We actively seek participation and develop structured opportunities for visitors to collaborate with us. We said yes, and they have now participated in several events, offering a unique mix of traditional tea ceremony, koto music, and bedazzled plastic microphones (see bottom left of photograph). As artistic director Abe Burickson described their work to me, I imagined Theseus walking deeper into the labyrinth towards the Minotaur. He spoke of the audience as providing a challenge, a challenge like any other artistic constraint. The goal was not that Christina should like John Cage. The experience was powerful for her.
