I came up with an idea to mesh my love of weekend crafts fairs and artist open studio visits with my day job. The idea was to ask artists to contribute one-of-a-kind items to an online monthly auction where proceeds would 100% benefit a range of local services for the unhoused, people with AIDS, frail seniors and vulnerable children.

Adults had as much fun as the children. But hard to sell when the space was packed to the gills with hordes of families and a madhouse of children trying to play at each exhibit. Consider offering more aesthetic benefits like meet-the-artist events, backstage passes, tickets to dress rehearsals, and more. Admirable goal.
